After the step forward obtained yesterday, when an agreement for a joint inspection of the Ukrainian army positions near Shumy was concluded with the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic), Ukraine, faithful to its bad habits, back-pedalled very quickly by cancelling the said inspection under pretexts more delirious one than the other.

Consistent information on Ukraine’s involvement in the arrest of 33 Russians in Belarus and in the destabilisation of the situation in Minsk appears in the media, including Ukrainian media. Some of this information confirms that it was indeed the SBU which was behind the operation which led to the arrest of several of the Russians at the end of July 2020. Others show that not only the National Corpus, but also former Ukrainian soldiers are being sent to Belarus by Ukraine to organise a colour revolution there.

The DPR People’s milita provided evidence that despite having signed international treaties banning their stockpiling and their use, Ukraine still possesses and uses anti-personnel mines, especially in the Donbass. For the seventh year, the Donbass residents live in a state of continuous war. The armed forces of Ukraine use heavy artillery, mortars and shooting weapons. The use of anti-personnel mines, which are prohibited by international treaties, by the Ukrainian military is of particular concern.

Ukraine may develop missile systems with nuclear waste for use in case of threat from Russia or other states, journalist Maxim Kukhar said on the air of UkrLife channel. He described four ways by which, in his opinion, Kiev would be able to defend itself from its opponents “if war begins“. By that time, according to Kukhar, arms control would “weaken” and Ukraine would be able to put into operation about 500 old Soviet missiles, which would be filled with nuclear waste.

In mid June we reported that the U.S. is preparing a `color revolution` in Belarus. A sub-part of that operation has been revealed today. It was designed to denigrate Russia in the eyes of the Belorussian population and its president. Over the last years President Aleksandr G. Lukashenko has tried to distance himself from Russia and to get some benefits from the west: But to get nearer to the `west` also has a price. A U.S. ambassador in town means that regime change plots are never far away. The sudden attention that Belarus now receives from U.S. aligned organizations is a sure sign that one is underway. On August 9 Belarus will hold presidential elections. Lukashenko will do his best to win again.

At the meeting of the contact groups which took place in videoconference format on 22 July 2020, Ukraine, the DPR and LPR (Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics) finally managed, after months of negotiations, to agree on additional measures to allow better control of the ceasefire in the Donbass. These additional measures will enter into force on 27 July at 00:01 a.m. Kiev time.

No sooner had the agreement on additional measures of ceasefire control in the Donbass been signed than, in keeping with its bad habits, Ukraine backed down completely, via the official statement by Vladimir Zelensky, the Ukrainian President, which stated that every point of the Minsk agreements had to be deciphered to see which ones were applicable and which were not, and demanded that the leaders of the Normandy Format countries sign the agreement approved by the members of the trilateral contact group on 22 July in order for it to be valid, thus totally destroying the negotiation process.

This morning, the Ukrainian army shelled the village of Mine 6/7 with mortar shells, damaging an important water pipe, which supplies not only the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) but also the population in the Ukrainian-controlled Donbass area. This destruction of vital civilian infrastructure could lead to a humanitarian disaster on both sides of the front line. This morning the Ukrainian army heavily shelled the outskirts of Gorlovka and Donetsk for an hour and a half.

New information continues to come in about the three AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) soldiers who died in the Donbass, near Zaytsevo, on 13 July 2020, while trying to approach the positions of the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) people’s militia, and especially about the Estonian, whose telephone revealed that he considered the Ukrainians as “pigs” and “degenerates” who needed a “white master” (sic).

While the EU and the Council of Europe have just called on Ukraine to quickly pass version 2.0 of the media law that will introduce censorship in the country, several journalists, experts and commentators are wondering whether Kiev has not misled Westerners about what this law actually contains. For if not, it would mean that the EU considers censorship to be part of its standards and values…

On the evening of 14 July, the Ukrainian army opened fire on the village of Alexandrovka, in DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic), damaging several houses and injuring two civilians: a woman and her son. Both were hospitalised and their condition is considered moderately serious by doctors. The DPR People’s Militia responded to the shooting by the Ukrainian army, causing several casualties among its ranks. The day before, the Ukrainian army carried out a provocation in Zaytsevo, which resulted in the death of three of its soldiers. These deaths were used by Kiev to smear Russia and the DPR.

In Ukraine, the “Opposition Platform – For Life” party called on Vladimir Zelensky to apologise and resign in the face of the President’s manifest inability to fulfil his main campaign promise: to end the war in the Donbass. In addition to his declining popularity due to his inability to end the war in the Donbass and turn Ukraine around, Zelensky now sees the Opposition Platform demanding that he apologize and resign.
